Why control predators in New Zealand?
Predator Free 2050
What is predator free 2050 and why is it important?
New Zealand has set the ambitious goal of removing possums, rats and stoats by 2050 to protect our vulnerable native species. These introduced pests currently kill around 25 million native birds each year, and have pushed a number of species to the brink of extinction
We created this animation to highlight the problems our native species face and the work that is being done to protect them by government, volunteers, businesses, iwi and community groups around Aotearoa.
